Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct shipment compliance reviews and technical assessments.
2. Provide customs process recommendations and regulatory guidance, including:
- Tariff Classification
- Customs Valuation
- Regulatory Compliance Requirements
3. Review shipment documentation to ensure compliance with customs laws, trade regulations, and company standards.
4. Support legal interpretation of customs regulations, trade laws, and industry guidelines.
5. Coordinate technical clarifications and compliance concerns with internal departments.
6. Assist in preparing technical reports, shipment assessments, and operational evaluations.
7. Assist in developing training modules, technical manuals, and compliance guidelines.
8. Monitor recurring compliance issues, operational risks, and recommend preventive actions.
9. Assist in technical process validation, internal governance reviews, and policy implementation.
10. Support compliance documentation, advisory activities, and regulatory updates.
11. Conduct post-execution reviews to identify process improvements and compliance gaps.
12. Provide technical support for special projects, critical shipments, and complex customs cases.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Customs Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or other related courses.
2. Must possess strong technical expertise in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, logistics, and international trade operations.
3. Must be knowledgeable in various government regulatory agencies and their requirements, including but not limited to:
- Bureau of Customs (BOC)
- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
- Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
- Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA)
Other concerned government agencies regulating importation and exportation.
4. Must be knowledgeable in international trade principles, customs laws, trade agreements, and import-export regulations.
5. Strong understanding of tariff classification under the Harmonized System (HS Code).
6. Knowledgeable in customs valuation methods and duty and tax computation.
7. Familiarity with customs procedures, import and export documentation, and cargo clearance processes.
8. Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to interpret laws, regulations, customs rulings, and government issuances.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple technical assignments.
12. High ethical standards with strong integrity and professionalism.
13. Preferably with customs, trade, or logistics-related certifications and trainings.
Experience Requirements:
1. At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, freight forwarding, logistics, or related industries.
2. Experience in handling import and export shipments from planning to customs clearance.
3. Experience in dealing with customs documentation, permits, and government regulatory requirements.
4. Exposure to tariff classification, customs valuation, and duty and tax assessment.
5 Experience in preparing technical reports, compliance reviews, or shipment assessments is an advantage.
6. Experience coordinating with government agencies and internal stakeholders.
7. Previous experience in handling special projects, regulated commodities, or complex shipments is preferred.
8. Experience in process improvement and compliance monitoring is an advantage.
