BALANGA, BATAAN — The Department of Trade and Industry–Bataan, in partnership with Jill L. Tolentino Customs Brokerage, led the seminar “Export Essentials: Documentation and Processes for First-Time Exporters” on Monday, April 13, 2026 at The Bunker in Balanga, convening aspiring exporters for a high-level discussion on entering the global market.
Bringing together first-time and emerging exporters from across the province, the full-day session delivered strategic insights on export documentation, processes, and regulatory compliance, equipping participants with the clarity and structure needed to move from intent to execution.
The seminar featured four licensed customs brokers from JLTCB, who led in-depth discussions on key areas of exportation.
Janelle D. Balagan, LCB, opened the session with Fundamentals of Export Transactions, emphasizing the importance of understanding the parties involved, identifying required export documents, ensuring accuracy in documentation, and securing proper accreditation for seamless export processes.
Sergei M. Castillo followed with Incoterms in Practice, breaking down the roles and responsibilities of buyers and sellers while clarifying post-shipment obligations to reduce risk and prevent miscommunication in trade.
Maria Franchesca C. Lumelay, LCB, presented Understanding Export Operations, guiding participants through the network of stakeholders and highlighting the coordination required in cargo handling and logistics.
Apple Nathalie B. Marfa, LCB, concluded with Understanding the Export Customs Clearance Process, outlining the step-by-step procedures and compliance requirements critical to successful export transactions.
With JLTCB professionals at the forefront, the seminar emphasized not just theory but practical application. The speakers shared industry experience, common pitfalls, and best practices, giving attendees a clearer and more confident approach to managing export activities.
Participants, particularly first-time exporters, gained valuable insight into managing documentation, aligning with regulatory requirements, and coordinating effectively with key stakeholders in the export chain.
By leading discussions and sharing expertise, JLTCB reaffirmed its role as a trusted partner in trade facilitation and education.
